Project Safe Aurora
In accordance with the Reimagine Public Safety Act and in unity with our partners, we envision an Aurora where every individual is empowered, supported, and thrives in peace and safety; a community so resilient and unified that the thought of turning to gun violence fades away, making Aurora a beacon of a violence-free future.
Our mission is to foster awareness of gun violence, build bridges within the community, and advocate for systemic changes that protect and uplift every resident of Aurora to reduce gun violence. Through research, community collaboration, and innovative approaches, we strive for an environment where safety and health are intertwined.
Community members are invited to our monthly meetings. For more information, please email Elizabeth Nunez at:

Be the Light Violence Prevention Event
Be the Light is an annual community event hosted by Project Safe Aurora that brings together residents, families, youth, and community organizations for a day of connection, resources, and family-friendly activities. Through resource booths, food, music, and giveaways, attendees can learn about local programs supporting health, safety, education, and well-being. By strengthening connections between residents and service providers, Be the Light supports violence prevention and helps build a safer, healthier, more connected Aurora.
